Born in New York City but raised in the Bay Area, Sandy has been an active and versatile vocalist both locally and internationally. As a founding member of the highly acclaimed vocal trio Pastiche, she has toured the U.S. and Japan in support of the group's two CD releases, "That's R & Bebop" and "Remember That". In fall of 2002, Pastiche will release a long-awaited follow up CD. Sandy's longtime passion for Brazilian jazz has led her to form Homenagem Brasileira, a group that features fresh arrangements of the music of the great Brazilian composers. The A-Records of Holland has received rave reviews from jazz and latin music critics alike, including a 3 1/2 star review in downbeat and feature articles in Latin Beat, JazzNow and JazzTimes. Sandy has also been active in the world of Salsa as a member of Candela, with whom she has recorded two CDs and has toured Cuba and Asia. Pastiche That's R & Bebop(Pony Canyon Tokyo/Nova Records U.S.) Soundtrack and commercial credits include: Major release soundtracks include "A Thousand Acres" ,"Mimic", "Play it to the Bone", "Spy Kids","Shimmer" as well as TV shows "Touched By an Angel" and "Nash Bridges". Commercial credits include Lucky's, California Milk Advisory Board, Coldwell Banker, California Lottery, See's Candy, Isuzu, Century 21 Realty, Reader's Digest, Delta Airlines and Nestea and game soundtracks for Sega's "Sonic CD" ,"Rock, Rap and Roll" "Orly" and "The Sims". Sandy has been teaching voice for 15 years, and is a Level 4 certified Associate Instructor of Speech Level Singing. She currently teaches at the Music Center of S.F. and at the Voice Studio. |
